What's This One All About?

In previous webinars, we have covered curriculum development and hyper focused on proper terminology, technique, and more. We have covered a TON of details on individual lessons, but what about the way they relate to each other across an ENTIRE Hip Hop program?  I wanted to offer a big summer training that doesn't just give you a set of lessons. I wanted to offer something where we are seeing how these lessons progress through each level. So your beginner lessons will have a direct relationship with what we cover in intermediate. The same goes for intermediate to Advanced.

But also...

You can totally sign up for just one of these webinars if thats what you really need!  Read on, and you'll see pricing per webinar, or the package price to register for all 3!

  • Beginner lessons include warmups, games, activities, challenges, and lessons revolving around Hip Hop & Breaking. The concentration on lessons will be to emphasize groove, the size of movement, energy, coordination, and more.

  • Intermediate lessons include warmups, creative activities, and an early look at freestyle. This course continues it look at Hip Hop & Breaking, along with the introduction of Popping, Waving, Isolations, Locking, and more. The concentration here will be on cleaning up concepts around energy, coordination, and groove to make your students look and feel authentic while doing Hip Hop.

  • Advanced lessons emphasize maximum challenges. This course is all about adding texture to movement and pushing dancers way beyond foundational standards. Their original lessons are retooled to help them stand out, look unique, and find a masterful display of rhythm, technique, creativity, and more.

You'll come away with:

  • A deeper understanding of technique and vocabulary for Hip Hop & Street Styles.

  • Proper warmups for each skill level.

  • A physical blueprint for designing curriculum and structuring your class.

  • A definitive pathway for dancers to progress through skill levels in your entire Hip Hop program.

  • A full recording of the entire series that never expires.

We were able to host John recently in our studio for two student workshops divided by ages, an adult class and a teacher training. I had followed him on social media and had always been impressed by his level of knowledge and passion to teach REAL hip hop. We were blown away by his knowledge once we met him in person and his training-in addition to his curriculum-has shaped our hip hop program in our studio! I highly recommend using John as a resource however you can, whether it is his curriculum or a live session. He is truly one of the best out there!

I had John out to my studio over the summer for teacher training. I am so glad that I had more than just my hip hop teachers in the room as his tips, exercises and approaches can be used in all genres. They are true teaching tools. John gives a true foundation and education on hip hop culture and brings you back to where it comes from and the why. His personality is infectious and his passion for not only his art  but educating others is evident. He has made himself available  to be a mentor to one of my newer staff members and we have purchased his curriculum for our studio. I can't say enough about him except he is the real deal.

John Comix Barrella has visited our studio twice since 2018 and he has inspired, educated and infused excitement into our hip hop programs.  Not only does he deliver memorable and current class work, he is authentic.  He studies so he can share and inspire with so much knowledge.  Our hip hop instructor uses his teaching material to continue to develop a strong and growing program at our studio.  After year one, our dancers looked forward to learning new styles that were presented with so much detail that they could retain the information and build on John's workshop visit throughout the season.
